What to Expect from Your Experience with Tanji

Booking Confirmation

Once the securing fee has been paid and booking confirmation has been issued by Tanji's team, your appointment is officially reserved. Your next point of contact will be on the day before your wedding, when you will receive final confirmation text from Tanji with the full booking details to verify that everything is correct.

On the Day of Your Wedding

Tanji will arrive at your location at the agreed time. To ensure the best possible application, please prepare the following:

THE FACE: Ensure the face is cleansed, exfoliated & moisturised with the removal of all facial piercings. Please note eyelash extensions are not recommended for Bridal Makeup as they restrict access to the lash line, making it harder to apply eyeliner, eyeshadow & blend products seamlessly. If you are prone to watery eyes due to sensitivity, please have with you soft tissue to catch stray tears from falling down the base during the application.

THE GOWN: If your wedding gown is to be worn over the head, it must be put on before the Bridal appointment begins to avoid contact with the freshly applied makeup. 

LOCATION SETUP: A seat near a window with natural daylight is required to ensure accurate colour matching at all times. Table space is also needed to set up the professional kit. Please be seated on a comfortable chair for the duration of the application. If you are not booked at your wedding venue, the ideal location for makeup application is the dining room area as this ensures adequate space and lighting from Tanji's 10 year experience.

CLIENT ETIQUETTE: This is your time to unwind, relax & enjoy the therapeutic process of makeup application. To ensure the most flawless makeup on your wedding day, Tanji kindly requests that you remain seated & still throughout the application process. Frequent movement or getting up can affect precision and symmetry. Please avoid eating or drinking during the session, as this can interfere with the makeup, particularly around the mouth area. It’s also important to limit phone use during the appointment, constant checking of your phone can cause subtle neck & eye movements that make it difficult to achieve a perfect symmetrical finish. Lastly, to avoid any accidental smudging, Tanji kindly asks that, no children or others touch your face during the application. 

In-Appointment Consultation

Tanji will then conduct a thorough consultation to align your final look with your preferences, including:

  • Base Coverage: Light, Medium, or Full Coverage. The performance of each depending on your skin type & the weather.

  • Eye Makeup: Soft or Intense colours, shape of shadow

  • Brows: Soft or Defined

  • Lashes: Cat-eye or Rounded style, in soft or full volume

  • Lips: Overlined, underlined, or natural. Finish: Matte, Satin OR Glossy

  • Face Sculpting: Intensity of contour, blush, and glow

Pre-Planning & Photo References

It is highly recommended to pre-plan your bridal look.
To ensure your expectations are fully met, please share visual references such as Instagram photos, Pinterest Boards etc. If you want an exact match to your inspiration photos, keep an eye out for faces with similar features to you. A makeup look can translate entirely differently if the model in the inspiration photo has the opposite features to you. Please share specific notes about your preferred finish and tones to better equip Tanji in understanding your desired results.

Professional Bridal Base

Even a soft look requires strategic layering of products to ensure:

  • Minimum 6+ hour longevity

  • Vibrancy in professional photography

Please note: The base may appear fuller coverage initially, however, once it sets over 20 minutes, the finish will soften, offering a more natural appearance with a lightweight feel.

Environmental Factors:

Tanji's Bridal Technique takes into consideration not only the client's preferences and skin type but also the weather, which plays a significant role in determining the longevity of the makeup look. 

If you are a Summer Bride, it is highly encouraged to go for a more fuller intense application, with emphasis on the use of finishing powders, in order for the makeup to last through heat, humidity, sweat and skin's natural oils. Opting for a lightweight base will shorten the longevity of the makeup.

If you are a Winter Bride, it is advised to opt for a more dewy finish with emphasise on the use of finishing spray to ensure the skin is hydrated & supple throughout the wedding day.

Post-Application Edits

Tanji includes an additional 30 minutes after completion of your Bridal makeup to:

  • Make any adjustments you request

  • Refine details to your exact preference

Open communication is necessary & encouraged throughout this time to ensure complete satisfaction.

Lip Product Advisory

For longevity, lips are strategically layered with liner, base colour & finishing colour in either a matte, satin or glossy finish. This may feel weighty on the lips but gradually reduces and extends wear-time.

  • It is advised to drink with straws, eat in big bites & 

  • While long-lasting formulas are used, touch-ups may be required after eating or drinking. Please have a lip product on standby in your Bridal Pouch for reapplication as a touch up kit is not provided.

Privacy Policy

If you would prefer your photos not to be shared on Tanji’s Instagram portfolio, you may opt out by notifying Tanji in advance. Your privacy is always respected.

Communication & Expectations

Please note, you are booking Tanji based on the Bridal Client photos/videos shared on her socials as well as Bridal Client reviews of 10 Years. Her technique is what is advertised on her portfolio - If you wish to stray away from Tanji's signature technique and prefer an alternative routine, final results may vary from what is clearly advertised.

Clear communication is necessary. Tanji will explain and advise why certain parts of your Bridal require layering, sandwiching & buffing of products. You are encouraged & welcome to:

  • Take an active role in co-creating your final Bridal Glam look if you wish to do so.

  • Share feedback during your appointment. 

  • Express your personal preferences and expectations before, during & after application process.

The goal is to ensure you feel glamorous yet comfortable, and entirely yourself on your special day. Your satisfaction is dependent on your clear communication.
