Bridal Morning

Its the morning of the wedding! Here are my top tips for the most peaceful & incredible start to the best day of your life!

You have just checked into your beautiful bridal suite, the concierge have been instructed to bring your luggage to your room, you have ordered breakfast via room service.

It is time to experience the fruits of your wedding planning labour…

  • Start with a bubble bath ritual to cleanse your mind & body. Light your bougie candles & play a piano instrumental to calm the nerves. Lather your body with a sweet scented body creme to intensify your wedding fragrance. This extends the longevity of your bridal perfume. Start your morning skincare routine with a lymphatic draining massage to chisel the contours of the face. For the best bridal makeup results, a freshly cleansed & exfoliated face is paramount! By now you should have invested in a Hyaluronic acid & moisturising cream. Don’t forget the décolletage area!

  • A light breakfast & a creamy coffee is essential, not only for the energy you will require for the day, but also to calm the butterflies! Staying hydrated is key as tensions and emotions will be its highest.

  • Lay out your Bridal belongings, from your gown, to your heels, accessories, jewellery & bouquet. The more pristine the presentation, the better your detailed professional photographs will turn out. This also means your photographers can start straight away upon their arrival, without any interference into your Bridal glam time!

  • Ensure that both the Bridal Hair & Makeup appointments do not overlap to avoid comprising the quality of either service. Both services require you in various opposing positions to achieve desired results hence it is important to ensure adequate time is given to both service providers. I always prefer for my brides to book me after their hair is done, as this allows me to take the final portrait shots of the look.

  • Capture your own footage of the day. There is something special about candid & personal photographs. Sure your photographers will capture the intimacy of the day with a beautiful & professional aesthetic, but having your own trail of the day’s events also provides you with your own personal perspective. Selfies will never go out of style!

  • Pack extra products with you for aftercare of your hair and makeup just in case of any unwanted accidents and emergencies. This could be hairspray and clips, to safety pins and grips for your outfits. I always recommend a small compact kit of makeup too eg. Charlotte Tilbury Pressed Powder, lip product of choice, blush compact as blush is known to fade over time as well as a glowing setting spray to refresh the base after a few hours into the celebration.

  • Designate a bridesmaid to be on standby should you have any emergencies, this could be an impromptu visit from Mother Nature, to medication that you might need, or perhaps it is to style the position of your outfit for the photographs, especially when it comes to long trails and veils. I cannot stress, from experience on my own wedding to the millions of weddings of my clients’ how important this is.
